Schedule posts to publish automatically to LinkedIn at specific dates and times. Write content when you have creative energy, schedule it for optimal posting times, and let Lime handle publishing while you focus on other work.

Before You Can Schedule Posts

You must connect your LinkedIn account to Lime first. This is different from being logged into LinkedIn on the right-hand screen within Lime - scheduling requires explicit authorization.

Connecting LinkedIn for Scheduling:

  • Click the three dots (main tools menu)
  • Go to Settings > Account Settings
  • Scroll down to LinkedIn Connection
  • Click the login button
  • Enter your LinkedIn credentials
  • Authorize Lime to post on your behalf

Once connected, you can schedule posts anytime without reconnecting.

How to Schedule a Post

  • Write your post in Start a Post as usual
  • Add any images or videos using Add Media
  • Preview the post to ensure it looks right
  • At the bottom left of the post writing screen, click the calendar button
  • Select the date and time you want the post to publish
  • Click Schedule post

The post is now scheduled. Lime will automatically publish it to LinkedIn at the specified time.

Alternative: Post Immediately

If you want to publish right now instead of scheduling:

  • Write and preview your post
  • Click Post live at the bottom left
  • The post publishes to LinkedIn immediately

Use this for time-sensitive content, breaking news commentary, or when you’re ready to post now.

Managing Scheduled Posts

Scheduled posts appear in your Content Calendar with their publish date and time. You can:

  • View all upcoming scheduled posts
  • Edit scheduled posts before they publish (make sure you unschedule and then schedule them first)
  • Reschedule to different dates/times
  • Delete scheduled posts if plans change

The color-coding (blue for Sales, pink for Personal, orange for Informational, yellow for Other) shows your scheduled content mix at a glance.

Why Schedule Posts

Batch content creation: Write 5 posts in one focused session, schedule them across the week. No daily creative energy required.
Optimal timing: Schedule posts for times when your audience is most active, even if that’s not when you’re writing.
Consistent presence: Maintain a regular posting schedule without manually remembering to publish daily.
Strategic planning: See your entire week’s or month’s content planned out on the calendar. Ensure a balanced mix of post types and topics.

Important Notes About Scheduling

LinkedIn connection required: Scheduling won’t work until you’ve connected your LinkedIn account in Account Settings. The right-hand LinkedIn screen in Lime isn’t sufficient - you need explicit scheduling authorization.
Scheduled posts can be edited: Until the scheduled time arrives, you can modify, reschedule, or delete posts. After publishing, they’re live on LinkedIn.
Time zones: Ensure your Lime account timezone is set correctly in Settings > Account Settings > Preferences so posts publish when you intend.
Tagging people in posts: You cannot currently tag people or company pages in posts through Lime (we’re working on it). To do this, you can edit your post once it’s live. We’ve tested on our own profiles and this does not seem to affect the reach of your post.
