Welcome to Lime! You’re about to turn LinkedIn from “I can’t tell if anything’s working” chaos into a business growth channel. Here’s what to do first in Lime:
Your quick-start checklist:
- Make sure the app is downloaded. Here’s the link for Apple - make sure you enable keychain access so Lime can open properly. Here’s the link for Windows. If you get a notification asking if you’re sure you want to download the app, just click yes.
- Download your LinkedIn connections Make sure you’re logged into both LinkedIn and Lime in the app, then go to the three dots Tools menu → Import LinkedIn Connections. Follow the prompts to download your connection data from LinkedIn - it might take a few minutes (LinkedIn will send you an email when it’s ready). In the meantime:
- Manually add connections This is useful while you don’t have any connections in your Lime dashboard. In future, it’s a great way to add people who aren’t in your connections list. To manually add connections, scroll the home feed on LinkedIn, and drag anyone you want to add into Lime (on the left hand side of the Lime app). Their LinkedIn profile will load and the Add Connection screen will come up - click AI Summary and Lime will automatically populate their details. Then Add to Lime. Do this a few times.
- Tag 10-20 important connections Add a few important people to your Lime dashboard and add tags: “prospect,” “client,” “referral-source,” whatever makes sense for your business. To do this, drag and drop them from LinkedIn on the right side of your app. Once their contact card loads, scroll down and select Add tags. Start small - you can organize the rest later.
- Set your first check-in schedules For those 10-20 connections, set check-in schedules based on importance. Daily for hot prospects. Weekly for established relationships. This tells Lime when to remind you to engage with them. To do this, go to their contact card, and select Change the check-in.
- Upload the rest of your connections to Lime (We’ll work with these later). Go to the three dots Tools menu → Import LinkedIn Connections. Choose your file and import it from here.
