Bulk actions allow changes to multiple connections simultaneously from search results. Instead of updating connections one by one, select all results from a search and apply tags or hide/unhide them in a single action.
This is particularly useful for organizing large networks, categorizing connections by role or industry, or cleaning up connection lists.
Bulk Apply Tags
Mass tagging is a powerful way to categorize connections without manual, individual tagging. Build comprehensive tag systems quickly by searching for characteristics, then tagging all matching results.
How to bulk tag:
- Create a search to find connections you want to tag
- Review results to ensure they match your intended group
- Select all connections in the search results
- Click with all [xxx] connections (where xxx is the number of selected connections)
- Choose the bulk tag option
- Enter tag name or select from existing tags
- Confirm the action
Tags apply to all selected connections. The process may take a few moments for large groups - tags appear once processing completes.
Example: Tagging marketers
To find and tag all marketing professionals in your network:
- Type “marketing” in the search box
- Select Other Text from the dropdown (searches job titles and taglines)
- Press Enter
- Review the results - this should show most marketers in your network
- Select all connections in the results
- Click with all [xxx] connections
- Add tag “marketing”
Now searching for marketing (using the Tag search field) returns all these connections plus any others you tag with “marketing” later.
Building tag categories
Use multiple searches to build complete tag categories:
To tag all marketing professionals:
- Search “marketing” in Other Text → bulk tag “marketing”
- Search “advertising” in Other Text → bulk tag “marketing”
- Search “PPC” in Other Text → bulk tag “marketing”
- Search “lead generation” in Other Text → bulk tag “marketing”
- Search “content” in Other Text → bulk tag “marketing”
To tag by company type:
- Search “agency” in Other Text → bulk tag “agency”
- Search “SaaS” in Other Text → bulk tag “saas”
- Search “consultant” in Other Text → bulk tag “consultant”
Working through results over time
You don’t have to tag all search results immediately. Here’s a common workflow:
- Create search (e.g., “marketing” in Other Text)
- Bulk tag all results with “marketing”
- Work through reviewing individual connections, adding more specific tags
- Save remaining connections for later review - the broad “marketing” tag is already applied

Bulk Hide/Unhide
Hide or unhide multiple connections simultaneously based on search results. Hiding connections removes them from standard searches and views. This is useful for decluttering your connection list, removing inactive profiles, or excluding irrelevant connections from daily workflows.
How to bulk hide:
- Create a search to find connections you want to hide
- Review results carefully
- Select all connections in the search results
- Click with all [xxx] connections
- Choose Hide from the bulk actions menu
- Confirm the action
Hidden connections disappear from standard connection views. They remain in your Lime database and can be unhidden later.
How to bulk unhide:
- Toggle Show deleted (hidden) records to On in Advanced Filters
- Create a search to find hidden connections you want to restore
- Select connections to unhide
- Click with all [xxx] connections
- Choose Unhide from the bulk actions menu
- Confirm the action
Unhidden connections return to standard connection lists and searches.
When to use bulk hide:
- Inactive LinkedIn profiles: Hide connections whose profiles are no longer active or deleted. Search for characteristics of inactive profiles (no recent activity, broken profile links), then bulk hide.
- Irrelevant connections: Hide connections outside your target audience or industry who clutter searches. Example: Filter by industry or tags for sectors you don’t work with, then bulk hide.
- Cleanup after network changes: If you pivot industries or business models, hide connections from previous career phases. Search by date range (connections from specific years) or old tags, then bulk hide.
- Declutter without disconnecting: Hide connections you want to keep on LinkedIn but don’t need in daily Lime workflows. For examople, distant acquaintances, mass-connection events, or connections made for one-time purposes.
Bulk action best practices:
- Review before acting: Always check search results carefully before bulk operations. Bulk actions affect many connections simultaneously and can’t be easily undone.
- Start narrow, expand gradually: Begin with very specific searches, bulk tag those, then broaden searches rather than starting too broad and having to undo.
- Combine with filters: Use Advanced Filters alongside text search for precision. Example: Text search “coach” + Date Range “Last 90 days” + Citizen Score “0-25” → bulk tag “new coach connection needs nurture”
- Check a few records after bulk actions: After bulk tagging or hiding, manually check several affected connections to verify the action applied correctly and to the intended group.

The selection mechanism appears after performing a search:
Individual checkboxes allow selecting specific connections from results
Select all checkbox (usually at top of list) selects all visible results
with all [xxx] connections button applies actions to all selected connections
The number shown ([xxx]) indicates how many connections will be affected by the bulk action—verify this matches your expectations before proceeding.
