Is LinkedIn actually working for you? Let’s find out.
You’re engaging with connections systematically. You’re capturing content ideas. Now let’s see if what you’re doing is working.
Upload your LinkedIn analytics:
- Go to Lime Analytics → Upload Analytics File
- Click the green Click here text to open LinkedIn
- Select date range (go back as far as you can - up to 1 year)
- Click Export
- Upload the file to Lime
Now you have data. Here’s what to look at:
Impressions & Engagement graphs: Are they growing? Flat? Declining? This shows whether your LinkedIn presence is expanding or stagnant.
Audience Demographics: Are you reaching the right people? Check job titles, industries, company sizes. If you’re trying to attract CMOs but your audience is 87% interns, you need to adjust your content.
Posting Insights: Which posts actually performed? Often you feel a certain type of post performs, but looking at what works over the long run is different. See what worked, do more of it.
Your Gang: Who do you interact with most? Does it align with your strategic priorities, or are you spending time with the wrong people?
The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is awareness. You can’t optimize what you don’t measure.
LinkedIn tip of the day: Post consistency beats post frequency. 2x/week published religiously performs better than 5x/week when you remember. The algorithm rewards accounts that show up predictably.
Also: The first 140 characters of your post are the hook - that’s what people see before “See more.” If those 140 characters don’t create curiosity or provide value, nobody clicks. Preview your posts in Lime before publishing to make sure the hook works (more on this soon).
Tomorrow: How to organize your network so it’s not just a giant overwhelming list.
