Citizen Score is a numerical representation (1-100) of your relationship strength with each connection. It works like a fitness tracker for professional relationships - the score increases with meaningful engagement and decreases over time without interaction, mirroring how real relationships develop and fade.

Each connection has their own individual Citizen Score based on your interaction history with them. The score helps identify which relationships are thriving, which need attention, and which are ready for the next step (asking for a meeting, making a pitch, requesting a referral).

Your overall Citizen Score is shown at the top of the Lime dashboard at all times (next to the three dots menu).

How Citizen Score Works

Scores grow with engagement

Every logged interaction increases a connection’s Citizen Score. This includes:

  • Comments on their LinkedIn posts
  • Direct Messages exchanged
  • Chats and meetings
  • Notes added about conversations

Make sure you log your actions: Only logged interactions will be included in the Citizen Score.

Different interaction types carry different weights - you can set how much each action contributes to your Citizen Score in Lime settings.

Scores decay without interaction

Just like real relationships, Citizen Scores gradually decrease when you don’t engage with a connection. The longer you go without interaction, the lower the score drops. This decay reflects natural relationships — people forget about you when you aren’t present.

Scores indicate relationship readiness

When a Citizen Score reaches higher levels (typically 50-100), the relationship is strong enough for bigger asks - scheduling calls, pitching services, requesting introductions, or asking for referrals.

Low scores (1-39) indicate the relationship needs building before making requests. Medium scores (40-69) show developing relationships that need consistent engagement to strengthen.

But remember - Citizen Scores are a guide - use them to test what works. You might find 30 is your sweet spot between ‘I didn’t know I could buy from this person’ and ‘This person gives me enough information for free, I don’t need to buy from them.’

Why Citizen Score Matters

  • Time outreach correctly: Know when relationships are strong enough for asks versus when more nurturing is needed. Prevents awkward pitches to cold connections and missed opportunities with warm ones.
  • Prioritize networking time: Focus your effort on connections with low scores who are strategically important (high-value tags, key industries) rather than spreading attention evenly across everyone.
  • Identify neglected relationships: Find connections whose scores have dropped significantly.
  • Predict conversion readiness: High Citizen Scores correlate with higher conversion rates - connections are more likely to say yes to meetings, lead magnets, or referrals when the relationship is strong.

Citizen Score appears throughout Lime - on contact cards, in search results, as a sort option, and as a filter criteria. It’s the primary metric for understanding relationship quality at scale.
